Of Old Memories and Nightmares - 3
{HIATUS - READ DESCRIPTION} The Adventures of Ryeowook and VampKyu
Everything came to a at the end of Ryeowook's shift at the nursing home he worked at. "Have a nice day Mrs. Do, I'll see you tomorrow!" He called over his shoulder to the sweet elderly lady in the waiting room. The woman raised a wrinkled hand and smiled a gummy grin. As soon as the door closed, he slumped and began his slow trudge towards the employee lounge. He loved this job, he really did; he just wished that it wasn’t so far away from home.
“Victoria, I’m leaving now!” Ryeowook groaned and stumbled into the employee area, nearly bumping into Hakyeon who was definitely not on his way to get another box of donuts for the whining elementary student Sanghyuk he left on the couch, waiting to be taken home after school.
"Ryeowook-ah, wait a second!" Victoria, the receptionist, waved the medical student over to where she was seated in the eating area. "There's a man waiting at the door for you, I didn't recognize him, but he's definitely not human."
"It's probably my roommate, I asked him to pick me up today."
Victoria pursed her lips. "Okay, just making sure. But be careful, okay?" Ryeowook nodded and gave her a hug before turning on his heel and walking out of the cafeteria. "And bring more of that kimchi fried rice tomorrow, stop hogging it!"
Ryeowook laughed as he stepped into the empty hallway and walked down past the many empty rooms, nodding at Luna as she skipped in, well rested and ready for her shift. "Luna-yah, Mr. Choi was asking after you today."
"He was? That's great! He remembered me!" She cheered. "And someone else was asking after you too, he's in the waiting room. Oppa, he's really good looking, you're so lucky!"
Ryeowook scoffed and moved towards the door. "Don't let him hear you say that, Kyuhyun's ego is big enough already."
Luna frowned. "Kyuhyun? Oppa, the man's name was Hyung-!"
But Ryeowook heard Luna's realization too late. As soon as he saw the cold eyes boring holes in him, he found himself pinned to the floor, Hyungsik's hands wrapped tightly around his neck.
"Nice to see you again, hyung." Hyungsik snarled. "Wanna finish what we started?" Ryeowook let out a strangled scream that Hyungsik silenced with a hard press of his hands.
"No, no, no, we can't have that!" Hyungsik tutted. The ghoul smirked and leaned closer to Ryeowook's face. "At least, not until your precious vampire friend arrives."
Ryeowook's eyes widened and he started writhing wildly, kicking his legs out and desperately trying to pry Hyungsik's fingers off his neck. Hyungsik growled and struck him across the face with one powerful punch. Out of the corner of his dizzy vision, Ryeowook saw Luna slink out of the hall. Good job Sunyoung, get out, be safe.
But Hyungsik saw this too. "And where do you think you're going, pretty girl?!" The moment Hyungsik's hands loosened, Ryeowook kicked out, striking him in the gut and scrambled away. Hyungsik let out a roar and grabbed him by the collar.
"Don't run away from me, hyung!" With one great swing, Hyungsik threw Ryeowook into the wall.
Ryeowook out before he hit the ground.

Kyuhyun had barely gotten out of his car in front of the nursing home when a small woman ran out, eyes wild and hair askew. "Someone help! Please, anyone!" She cut off with an oomph when she ran headfirst into Kyuhyun, nearly knocking herself over had he not caught her.
She looked up at him with wide eyes and gripped him by the shoulders. "Sir, please, help me! My sunbae - my friend - he's being attacked! Ryeowook-oppa hasn't been doing well lately, I'm afrai-!"
"Ryeowook? Kim Ryeowook?" The woman nodded and Kyuhyun paled. His worst fear had been confirmed; Hyungsik had attacked Ryeowook when he was unprotected. "W-where is he?"
The woman pointed inside and Kyuhyun rushed through the doors. Now that he was inside the building, Kyuhyun followed his human's scent, snarling when he recognized the distinct tinge of fear and pain. Ryeowook's scent was strongest behind a set of glass panel doors and Kyuhyun's vision went red when he saw a pair of familiar slender hands lying limply on the floor.
